Terms of Service

Effective: May 29, 2026

Welcome to Lumen VTT (the "Service"). These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Lumen VTT ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, for any activity that occurs under your account, and for keeping your contact email up to date. Notify us immediately at support@lumenvtt.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others
• Upload or generate content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise objectionable
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service beyond what is publicly available
• Automate, scrape, or crawl the Service in a way that interferes with normal operation
• Use the Service to distribute malware, spam, or unsolicited content
• Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other protective mechanisms
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any individual or entity

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice, at our discretion.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the campaign content you create in the Service, including characters, NPCs, maps, notes, narrative text, and similar material. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate and provide the Service to you.

You are solely responsible for your content and for ensuring you have the rights to any third-party material you upload, import, generate, or share through the Service.

You may not use the Service to reproduce, distribute, or make available third-party tabletop content unless you own it, have permission from the rights holder, or are otherwise legally allowed to use it.

5. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party APIs including Google Gemini, Together AI, TableTopAudio, and Pixabay. If you choose to use these integrations:

• You are responsible for complying with each provider's terms of service
• You are responsible for any costs, quotas, or rate limits associated with your own API keys
• We are not liable for outages, billing, or content decisions made by third-party providers

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its code, design, trademarks, and original content created by Lumen VTT, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

Dungeons & Dragons and D&D are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC. Lumen VTT is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast.

This work includes material from the System Reference Document 5.1 ("SRD 5.1") by Wizards of the Coast LLC, available at https://www.dndbeyond.com/srd. The SRD 5.1 is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.

This attribution applies only to SRD material. It does not grant rights to non-SRD Dungeons & Dragons content or any other third-party content uploaded, imported, generated, or shared by users.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUMEN VTT AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, DATA LOSS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Lumen VTT harmless from any claims or liabilities arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion by contacting support@lumenvtt.com. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion for any violation of these Terms or for any reason. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware for any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
