Crystal Caverns
A cave of living crystal winding galleries, a bridged chasm, and a heart of raw light at the center.
Light in the Crystal Caverns doesn't come from torches. It comes from the walls — veins of violet and seafoam crystal that brighten as the party passes and dim behind them, so the only lit room is the one they're standing in. The cavern opens from a single door in the north-west and unwinds into a ring of galleries around a central chamber, where a heart of raw crystal burns cold and bright beside a carved stone dais. A natural bridge spans the western gap. In the south, a collapsed hall lies half-swallowed by growth: pillars down, a wheel of worked stone still set in the floor, and no sign of who set it there. It runs four ways without redressing. A chase through the loops, where the galleries double back and the party loses sight of what's following. A parley at the dais, lit by the crystal and nothing else. An ambush from the ceiling in the narrow runs — darkmantles do well here. Or a slow crawl where the light itself is the clock.
